Structus Announces New Executive Appointments

August 1, 2006 (Bend, Oregon) — Structus Building Technologies, Inc., creator of NO-COAT® Structural Laminate Drywall Corners, announced today the promotion of two of its top executives. Bill Scannell has been named President and David Slavensky has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer. The promotions are effective immediately.

"Both of these individuals have made tremendous contributions to Structus. During the last nine years, Bill has played a pivotal role here, and in the process he's made major contributions to the growth and development of the company," commented Structus CEO Tim Smythe. "He combines a proven ability to create and implement successful strategies with true leadership talent."

Dave Slavensky joined Structus in 2004. “Through his energy and perseverance, Dave has transformed our manufacturing division into a highly efficient, world class operation capable of handling the complexities of our product line as well as our exponential growth. He has also been instrumental in developing the strategic focus of the company,” asserts Smythe. “The current success of Structus and the NO-COAT brand is a tribute to their skills as executives, and we look forward to the next decade of growth and expansion with their leadership."

As President, Mr. Scannell will work closely with the senior management team to determine company priorities, and will be responsible for creating and implementing innovative and effective corporate strategies. Mr. Slavensky will manage the day-to-day operations of Structus, including Manufacturing, Engineering, IT, and Human Resources. He will also be intimately involved in determining the strategic focus of the company.

Mr. Scannell has served as Executive Vice President of Business Development at Structus since 2004. He joined the company in 1997 during the early stages of its growth and was promoted to National Sales Manager in 2000. Prior to joining Structus, Mr. Scannell held management positions with both Transcontinental Development Corporation (Waikoloa, Hawaii) and Raytheon (Waltham, Massachusetts).

Mr. Slavensky joined Structus as Vice President of Operations in 2004. Prior to Structus, he was a Manufacturing Consultant for the Oregon Manufacturing Extension Partnership (OMEP). He also served as VP of Operations at KVP (Sacramento, California) and was a consultant with California Manufacturing Technology Consulting (CMTC). Mr. Slavensky began his career as a manufacturing engineer in the aerospace industry and spent over five years in various management positions with 3M.
